Sharon Profis

Sharon Profis (née Vaknin) is an American technology reporter and television personality currently working at CNET, a subsidiary of CBS Interactive. She is a full-time editor and on-air host at CNET.com, where she covers technology news, and hosts videos for CNET TV. She's the author of two Amazon bestsellers, "Mastering the Kindle Fire" and "Mastering the Galaxy S4."
She has appeared as a tech expert on The Today Show, CBS News, NPR, CBS Radio, ABC Bay Area, and Martha Stewart Living.
Outside of technology news, Profis hosts "Farm to Fork" a cooking segment on a national PBS show, America's Heartland.
==Background==
Profis was born and raised in the Sunset District of San Francisco, California. She went to San Francisco State University where she studied Broadcasting and Electronic Communication Arts. Meanwhile, she interned at CNET for three years until May 2011, when it was announced she would become a full-time editor to launch the ''CNET How To'' brand.
During her college career, Profis explored food and cooking. In 2010, she launched Flavorcraft, a YouTube channel where she hosts cooking videos with original recipes and tips. She produces, hosts, and edits each video. That channel launched her into her most recent role, hosting a cooking segment for a national PBS television show, America's Heartland. Profis also hosts the "Farm to Fork" segment, where she meets with farmers and cooks unique dishes using their crops.
She co-founded and, until January 2012, coordinated Digitally Chic, a networking group for women in San Francisco. She was also previously a radio show host for the show "Geek and the City" but it has since been discontinued.〔http://www.sharonvak.com/about/〕
